A huge sinkhole swallowed in the center of a five lane busy road in Fukuoka city Japan at around 5:00 local time (GMT 20:00) on Monday. This contretemps occurs near Hakata Station, the busiest area in Fukuoka city in the southern island of Kyushu.
This sinkhole is around 30 meter (98) feet wide. It starts with two smaller holes that steadily grew to a huge sinkhole. There was no news about any injury but it disrupted gas, water, power and the transport services in the area.
City officials said, “Engineering work to extend a nearby underground train line may be related to the sinkhole’s sudden appearance.”
