Designed in the Gothic style of the house of the great writer is in Hartford, Connecticut. In it, he lived from 1874 to 1891 and it is here composed his best novels, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.”

One day, when Mark Twain with his family went to Europe, his favorite daughter Susie died of meningitis. After this tragedy, writer, and I could no longer cross the threshold of her house, on her daughter’s death brought him memories of strong distress.

Years later, in 1903, the house was sold and there were a school and a library. In 1962, the Gothic building received the status of National Historic monument, this museum was opened by Mark Twain.

After that, the museum staff began to talk about the unexplained things. According to them, they felt the smell of cigars in his office and a billiard room of the late writer and even saw the ghost of his daughter Susan, who appeared before them in the form of a woman in the white shirt of the Victorian era.
